What are adaptogens?
Adaptogens are active ingredients naturally occurring in specific plants, mushrooms and herbs that may impact how your body deals with stress, anxiety and fatigue.
When consumed, these plants, herbs and mushrooms provide adaptogenic actions that increase or decrease chemical reactions that assist your body in coping with anxiety, stress, fatigue by adapting to what your body needs. For example, if you’re stressed (elevated cortisol), an adaptogen will respond by reducing cortisol levels. If you experience chronic fatigue with low cortisol levels, an adaptogen will increase the level of cortisol in your body. In other words, Adaptogens bring your body back to a steady balance by managing both physical and mental stressors to bring you back into balance (homeostasis).

Maintaining Balance(Homeostasis)
Ayurvedic medicine, rooted in the principles of balance, emphasizes the restoration of equilibrium within the body, mind, and spirit. Through personalized dietary recommendations, herbal remedies, and lifestyle practices, Ayurveda seeks to harmonize the individual's unique constitution, known as doshas. By addressing imbalances in the doshas – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha – Ayurvedic medicine aims to optimize physiological functions and promote homeostasis. The holistic approach of Ayurveda considers the interconnectedness of various aspects of life, fostering a sustainable state of equilibrium (Homeostasis) for overall well-being.
Achieving homeostasis is crucial for optimal health, as it ensures a stable internal environment for efficient physiological processes, supports the immune system, and enhances mental well-being. This balance is essential in preventing chronic illnesses and promoting organ function. Prioritizing homeostasis through lifestyle choices results in increased energy, improved resilience, less stress and anxiety and an overall sense of vitality.
